The location that Biancha and I have chosen to shoot is the 68th Street subway stop. We plan to film both the movement and stillness of the location.  We want to capture the chaos of rush hour when there are larger crowds of people entering and exiting the subway and contrast it to the calm and quiet of the in between times. We want to shoot the trains coming and going, the growing crowds, the signs, the stillness of the seating area, the empty turnstiles and the mobbed turnstiles, the ticket machines, the departure and arrival time signs, the countdown of the train arrival, and the empty tracks. The feelings we want to evoke are the stress and anxiety caused by the commotion of the people moving through the subway station versus the tranquility of the emptiness of the subway station prior to their arrival. First, I thought I wanted to be a nurse but then I finished binging Grey’s Anatomy . Next, I thought I wanted to be a history major but then I finished binging Outlander . I thought I might be a great Assistant to the Regional Manager but then I finished binging The Office . It wasn’t until I found myself considering a life as an irresponsible alcoholic while binging Shameless that I finally realized my real passion was not the characters on the screen but tv itself. After spending hours and hours of my life binge watching tv shows to avoid responsibilities, it made me realize the impact and influence tv can have on a person. We wake up with it, we eat with it, we go to bed with it. The thoughts and ideas that the characters on these tv shows spread stick with you as you go through your day.
